This product is made of Fluoroelastomer, a highly chemical resistant fluorocarbon-based synthetic rubber which is commonly known by the brand name of Viton®. Our product(s) are made of the same type of high quality fluoroelastomer material as Viton®. Goldleaf Scientific is not affiliated with the manufacturer of Viton® or its subsidiaries.
This is generally excellent for automotive fuels including biodiesel, hydrocarbon based fluids/chemicals and good for lubricating oils, engine oils, aqueous fluids, steam and mineral acids. It is not recommended for oxygenated fuels with methanol, ethanol etc...
Please check the Cole Parmer Chemical Compatibility Chart regarding whether the Fluoroelastomer material will be compatible in your application. The material is identified as "Viton®" in the database.
